Current Research
In 1994 the prevalence of diabetes was less than 4.5% of the majority of the United States. As the the obesity epidemic grew so did the prevalence of diabetes. In 2010 the majority of the states had a prevalence or either 7.5-8.9% or greater than 9%, because diabetes is becoming more prevalent there is more of a demand for research in this field.
